Cascio Interstate Music is one of the sponsoring companies of Milwaukee's very first Yellow Phone Music Conference, which runs September 30 - October 2, 2011.
This conference, held at the Intercontinental Host Hotel is a way for unsigned musicians in the area to get advice and input from key professionals in the music industry in their efforts to make music/performance become their lifelong career. These business sessions will be conducted by over 40 industry panelists from throughout the country, ranging from Producers, Owners/Talent Buyers, Music Attorneys, Artist Managers, Agents, Promotional Executives, and more. These executives have worked with a wide array of artists and music styles including, Fitz and the Tantrums, Hall and Oates, Jonny Lang, Kanye West, Linkin Park, Michelle Branch, Owl City, Passion Pit, Silversun Pickups, Garrison Keillor, The Swell Season, Van Morrison, Cage the Elephant, Roseanne Cash, Steely Dan, Go Radio, and more....
The conference is patterned after SXSW in it's early days, and focuses on how to succeed as a musician/band in today's environment and learn the in's and out's of the industry's business side to become a successful band or artist. The three day conference brings together artists with key music industry executives to help share ideas and discover new opportunities. During the run of the conference, each evening will feature 5 Milwaukee Area venues showcasing a selected group of 50 Midwest bands in a nightly performance format.
